Ari Sussman is sailing across the Atlantic to raise awareness and funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
Help us meet our goal of $10,000.
We need to meet this goal to get the $10,000 matching amount from the Lefkofsky Foundation!
As some of you may or may not know, I am sailing across the Atlantic (probably as you read this) with three other crew members in a 40 foot boat. I would like to try to use this trip as an opportunity to reach an ambitious goal in a short amount of time-–$10,000 for Crohns and Colitis research by the time that I land in Gibraltar.
I am raising money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in honor of several friends of mine who suffer from these terrible diseases, and particularly in memory of my good friend Yossi Schiff who died of complications three years ago. Yossi was an adventurer and it is with his spirit that I embark on this trip.
If we reach this goal, a check will be sent directly to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America along with a matching amount from the Lefkofsky Foundation which will generously match us if we can raise $10,000. If we are unable to reach this amount by the time I land no one will be charged, but we will lose the opportunity for the matching amount. If that happens, I will set something else up for people to donate through and let everyone know.
Also, once we reach our goal there will be a bbq/potluck to celebrate our efforts— and you won’t want to miss it.
Please circulate this far and wide (I know how everyone feels about asking friends to donate, but… tough) because we’ll need all the help we can get to secure the generous matching grant.
As I am at sea and out of touch, my brother Eitan will be helping me with this campaign (as a co-organizer). You can message both of us through this campaign or email Eitan:sussmanster@gmail.com or me:ari.sussman@gmail.com (even though I probably won’t get it for a while).
